Foilone's own 15 kW electric propulsion system, rated 14.9 kW, driving a two-foil (front and aft, in line) hydrofoil craft that lifts onto its foils at about 10 knots. Battery: two Torqeedo 48-5000 packs, 5 kWh each (10 kWh total, 48 V), accessible and swappable; 0–100% in under 2 hours on the Torqeedo fast charger. Range is published as time — "2 h+" — not as miles, so no nautical-mile figure is recorded. Weight 200 kg with batteries, 128 kg without; LOA 4.88 m, width 0.95 m; draft 1.0 m with foils extended in displacement mode, 0.3–0.4 m when foiling, 0.3 m with foils up. Price from the builder's configurator, read on 17 October 2026: hull €32,550 + front foil with steering and flight-height system €14,750 + 15 kW propulsion €17,000 + batteries and charger €9,276 (supplied by the local Torqeedo dealer) = €73,576, VAT 0%, EXW Finland.
What a buyer should know
Not a boat in the usual sense
The Pegasus is closer to a personal watercraft than to a day boat, and buyers should read the numbers that way. One seat, 0.95 metres of beam and 200 kg all-up means it is a machine you operate rather than one you entertain on. There is no capacity for guests, no storage and no shelter.
What the figures imply
Thirty knots from 14.9 kW is only possible because foils lift the hull clear of the water, which is the entire point of the design — drag collapses once the craft is flying, so a modest motor delivers speeds a conventional 4.9-metre hull would need several times the power to reach. The trade-off is that 10 kWh is a small pack, so sessions will be measured in tens of minutes rather than hours; Foilone does not publish a range or endurance figure, which is the single most important thing to ask before ordering. The two-hour charge time is short enough for a lunch break between runs.
Who should buy it
Experienced watersports people on sheltered lakes and inshore water who want the foiling experience, and who accept a learning curve. Anyone wanting a family boat, or reliable transport in chop, should look elsewhere. The Foiling Awards recognition is meaningful validation from a jury that specialises in exactly this category.
Written from the builder’s published specifications and the wider market, not from testing the boat ourselves. Always confirm figures with the manufacturer before committing.
